Family Visit Guidelines

By June 18, 2020 No Comments

Dear Families,

I understand how difficult these last few months have been for individuals, their families/caregivers and staff. Upon advice of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), Sensity is taking a gradual approach to ensure the safety of our staff, visitors and individuals in our care. Preventing transmission of COVID-19 remains a key priority.

As such, we have established the following visitor requirements:

  • Visits will only be permitted by those who have tested negative for COVID-19 in the last 2 weeks (proof must be emailed to lcrawford@sensity.ca prior to the visit).

  • All visitors will be required to sign in.

  • Only 2 visitors will be allowed at a time per individual.

  • Visits must be booked at least 5 days in advance.

  • Visits will be limited to Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • There is a limit of 2 visits per individual per week.

  • Hand hygiene etiquette must be followed.

  • Masks must be worn during the visit (visitors must supply their own)

  • A six foot distance must be maintained during the visit.

  • At no time can the visitor enter the individual’s residence.

  • We respectfully ask that no gifts be brought to the residence at this time.

  • No overnight stays are permitted.

  • Those who do not adhere to the expectations above will lose visiting privileges.

Visit information:

  • You may book a visit between 10 a.m.–1 p.m. or 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. (Monday to Saturday) through lcrawford@sensity.ca

  • If you are visiting someone in Paris, you must come to the Reception desk at your scheduled appointment time, complete a screening document and you must sign in and out.

  • If you are visiting a program in St. Catharines, London or Kingston, please knock on the door and an employee will greet you and bring the family member to you. Do not enter the residence.

  • You may visit your loved one in one of our designated spaces outside. If you wish to take a walk, physically distancing from other visitors and the public must be followed.

  • Each designated space will be sanitized after each visit.

  • Our staff will be monitoring the visits and will be the point of contact to arrange for your loved one to return to their home.

  • If you need to make alternative arrangements for a visit, please contact Director of Services Sue Hall, at shall@sensity.ca

  • We cannot accommodate impromptu visits due the need to follow physical distancing.

  • Bathrooms will not be available for visitors.

As always I appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work together to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Kindest Regards,

Cathy Proll

Chief Executive Officer
